Greetings, Wow, the last reflection posted here was in June 1999! How time seems to just fly... Well, I'm taking this opportunity as the third millennium is only hours away to reflect upon what this means. A millennium is quite a step... we have had only two since Jesus was born, as I was just reminded by Michael in today's Messages of Light - and he spoke about the last two, so let me ponder upon where we stand in all this. Especially the end of the last millennium was full of surprises, when we look at the bigger picture - the discovery of America, and the creation of a world power there, the development of nuclear weapons, the industrial revolution with all it's conveniences and major downsides, including pollution and destruction of nature and resources. I feel the next millennium will be a very interesting and highly challenging one - but I don't need to go that far into the future, yet alone the next century will be tough, as we will have to work these things out if we are to survive. But let's focus on the nearer future, and even more so, on our current life situation. Mankind needs to find solutions not only for pollution, destruction of nature, and resources, but also dissolve war in this high-tech world we live in, otherwise there will be some major trouble ahead. I try not to worry about these things, about our own future and the one we create for our children, but we should not forget about our responsibility. Only too often do we think, it's the Government's responsibility, or the UN's, or whoever, as long as it's someone else's. Too rarely do we accept our own responsibility. I think it's high noon to change our attitude, as mankind, and as individuals, and accept our burden and our duties, our responsibility and our chores. Ignorance does not solve problems, it creates just the more, and the debt will only rise. I strongly hope that the coming decade, century, and millennium will be a time where we as mankind accept our responsibility and create a better future for ourselves and our children. And since I have faith in God, I also believe that it will be so, but there may be some hard lessons to learn if we refuse, until we understand the meaning of being mankind on earth. HAVE A BLESSED NEW MILLENNIUM! Love & Light New Year's Eve 2000 |
