Spirituality And The Bible

commentary by Gerrit

Recently, I've been asked why there are no quotations from scriptures on this site, and where the Bible stands on channeling, clairvoyance, telepathy and telekinesis. Also confronted by some very "Christian" relatives, I began reflecting on this matter, and whoever is interested in my thoughts regarding spirituality and the Bible, is invited to read on.

First of all, I am no Bible expert, and have to admit I haven't read all of it. I value the Bible as a historically precious document, but I personally am cautious about taking it literally. I understand that over the centuries, too many modifications, like translation errors, even intentional alterations, have taken place, and we are looking at a changed fragment of the original documents. It has provided valuable guidance to many, but has also given food to some misleading interpretations. If you don't believe me, you can do your own research and come to your own conclusions. By all means, please do, don't just take my word for it, and ask the Vatican for the missing passages, pages and books. I guess they didn't read Revelations 22: (yes, finally a Bible verse!)

18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;

19 And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

As you know, the Bible was written - by human hand. I don't call myself a prophet, but I'm getting my information from angels and other highly evolved spirits, and present it here on this site. I haven't seen a book in the Bible where a prophet cited another book within the Bible, I guess the spirits and angels aren't starting now to cite from it, either. After all, it's their pure message I'm trying to bring across, I don't do any editing, or adding of bible verses.

I have just opened the Bible and I found some very interesting material about "spiritual gifts" - check it out at I Corinthians 12-14, too much to type in here, but if you are interested in reading this, you probably have a Bible at hand. Here just a short excerpt from I Corinthians 14, 5:

I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophecies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

and I Corinthians 14, 22

Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.

Need I say more?

I am aware that many people would feel more comfortable if they could have "proof" that what they read here is true - however, I don't know any religion that's based on proof and knowledge, aren't they all based on faith and trust?

Before you wonder, I do believe not only in God, also in Christ Jesus, and Buddha, and ... I believe there have been many ascended or ascending souls that came to show us the way, to be an example. They demonstrated that through the severest struggles of life you can be strong enough within to still believe in God and the power of love and light. They didn't need any proof to satisfy the mind, all they had was their trust in God.

I also see this site as non-denominational, which is another reason for abstaining from scripture citations - I don't want to exclude any of our Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, and other users by restricting this to be an "Christian only" site. It is a site dedicated to spirits and angels, allowing them to speak to you, regardless of your religious background.

I am aware I came on a bit strong here - but this section is for personal comment, and you may submit your own commentary to this section.
